Using social media for your dance studio is a must, because it helps Google find you, and many of your students are using it too! Google+, often mistaken for the red-headed stepchild of the social media world, can be one of the most effective and important online marketing tools that you use to grow your studio. And here’s why:
The single most important benefit of using Google+ is Search Engine Optimization. Search engines use complicated algorithms to rank pages in order to tailor search results to individual users. Google is the most widely used search engine on the planet, so it is important for your studio to show up prominently in relevant Google searches.
While you may have active engagement with followers and fans on Twitter and Facebook, these services restrict Google’s access to much of their user data. So, just because people are talking about you on Facebook and Twitter doesn’t necessarily mean that Google can find that information. Google+, on the other hand, is a fully integrated Google product, which means the Google search engine has full access to the network’s user data.
(While that may sound a little tech-y to you now, the bottom line is that this integration vastly increases your company’s appearances in Google searches, which is sure to drive traffic to your site and to your studio!)
Google+ also provides a couple of other features particularly useful to dance studios, including automatically creating a listing on Google maps for your studio when you set up a page.
